Dolores Bernice Davis was born to Charles and Ina Chilson on June 22, 1947 in Auburn, NY. Dolores, known by her friends and family as Dee or Deedy, passed away on June 28, 2020 in Tooele, UT at the age of 73.
In 1955 Dee became part of a blended family with the marriage of her mother, Ina, and Irving Bishop Sr. and was the eldest of eight children. Three more children were born in the subsequent years and Dee was instrumental in rearing her siblings at an early age. Dee graduated from Central High School class of 1965 in Auburn and enlisted in the Navy soon after graduation.
While in the Navy Dee met her first husband, Guy Huckins, who was also a sailor, and over the coming years they were blessed with two sons, Guy Jr. and Paul. As part of the Navy family, Dee and her family moved quite a bit, spending time in Rhode Island, New York, Iceland, California, and Hawaii.
Dee was married to Dave Davis in 1976 and together they adopted several more children and fostered numerous others while living in California, Texas, and Arizona. They had been married 42 years when Dave passed away in 2018.
Dee had a passion for learning. With degrees in nursing, education, archaeology, and religious studies, her life was a constant quest for knowledge. She loved to share what she learned and also taught nursing. Her love of video games became a study of the sociological and psychological behavior of gamers. She enjoyed meeting new people and interacting with everyone she came in contact with, sometimes leaving positive changes in their lives.
Dee is preceded in death by her fathers, Charles Chilson Sr., Irving Bishop Sr., mother Ina Bishop, and brothers Irving Bishop Jr. and Ralph Bishop.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Guy Carlton Huckins Jr., Paul Eugene Huckins, Elizabeth Lorena Tinson, Angela Renee Davis, David Davis, Shyanna, Clayton Davis, Brandon Davis, Kosta, Aphrodite and Sonnet and siblings, Charles Chilson, Donna Reynolds, Charlotte Chilson, Harold Bishop, Roy Chilson, Cindy Lou Williams, Paul Bishop, Zoey Ellison.
There will be an online Celebration of Life Memorial for Dee on August 2, 2020.
